The visibility of masses can be controlled by the show mass setting of the view. In plan view click view menu view properties. I checked the object styles and the vg menu and they are both the same as the ductwork yet appear to be greyed out see below. This may be an easy one but as i am currently teaching myself revit this issue is stumping me.
